Salena Yuanqi Wang – Doctoral Candidate at Copenhagen Business School

Salena Yuanqi Wang  joined CSEI and the Department of Economics at CBS as PhD Fellow in September 2025. She is part of the Ports as Energy Transition Hubs (POTENT) Doctoral Network funded by the European Commission’s Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions grant. This research project explores the evolving role of ports as green energy transition hubs and their socio-economic implications. It aims to contribute meaningfully to academia, the business sector, society, and international policymaking.

Salena holds a BSc (with Honours) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Warwick, an MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics, and a CEMS double degree, Master’s in International Management and Master’s in International Business, from the Stockholm School of Economics and CBS. She has also previously worked with international organisations and research institutes, including the UN World Food Programme and the Institute of Development Studies, on research projects related to South-South Cooperation, the Belt and Road Initiative, and digital transition. Her research interests include energy economics, political economy, economic development, innovation, technology, and trade.
